ECT Day 1:The Road Often Traveled
The first day of our
East Coast Tour was much like any other day. Get up, get dressed, get out of the house. Except instead of going where we usually go, we took off to Montreal. Then again, a trip to Montreal is nothing new to us. Nebraska even lived there for quite a few years.
So our ride up to Montreal didn't provide us with much excitement or new scenery, just a few hours of listening to some of
our favorite CD's. Once we got to our first destination, which was in
Sorel,QC, there wasn't much prep needed in doing our first interview. It was with an old friend, who we had come to see a few times in Montreal.
This time meeting up with him was a bit different though. We were not meeting him at a show. We were actually invited to his house/studio to chat with him about his newest album. I was unaware of these details before getting there, so when I saw all the instruments and recording equipment, I got that special feeling. The idea that I would probably end up making some music, took me out of the element of being '
the media' and got me into the mind frame of being an
'artist'.
We ended up jamming, and trying to come up with a theme song for our tour, which we definitely didn't accomplish, but it did set a tone for the rest of the trip. We are now really hoping there will be more music making on the rest of our journey.
As for our next stop, we are headed to
Quebec City, a road less traveled, and are looking forward to exploring it on day 2 of our trip.
